The Finnish companies have exported granite for over 100 years. Their especially hard and beautiful granite has fascinated people around the world. Although the geographical position of Finland is difficult, Finns have overcome this fact by producing cost effective and high quality blocks.

TG is founded in 1966 and it is owned by the Kainu brothers. The Kainu family has been involved in the Finnish granite industry for generations. In the beginning of the 1960’s and until the 80’s the Kainu family had along with quarries their own production plant for slabs, tomb stones and cut-to-size products. Since the 1970’s the development in the world market has shaped the family business into block production. In the 1970’s the quarrying machinery producers started co-operating with the Kainu family and other dimensional stone quarriers. The drilling machines were developed according to their requirements and the blasting method was developed into what today is known as the “Finnish method”
